A good SLR camera?

Fri Jan 16, 2009, 4:47 PM
So yes. Anyone have any suggestions?

I'm not planning to get one now. I don't have the money, but I want an idea.

As each day passes by I realize more and more that the Canon I have (a Powershot s5IS)just itsn't doing its job. The lenses can not be changed, there are no filters for it and pictures are blurry. My hands shake the slightest tiniest bit and the picture is already off and it's not fast enough for things in motion, not even with the sports setting. The pictures are really noisy, especially when taken indoors or in dark places. I understand this will happen often but the noise is way too much. Sometimes you can't even make out people's faces. Even pictures that are taken outdoors in broad daylight are beginning to get noisy, and it used to not do that.

Another thing...it doesn't give me the image size or resolution I need. I work BIG and high-res. My art is all my own, from start to finish... I take all my photos and make all my pictures and put everything completely done by me together..

I know it's not alway the camera, it can be the photographer. But this camera really doesn't cut it for what I do. I've experimented with every mode, played with every setting, but it only stays the same or gets worse. Why, even my HP Photosmart had more ISO options than this one.

A coupled of people have suggested the Nikon D60...

Well, I own a Nikon D60 and I can see why other people would have suggested it. It takes amazingly clear and crisp pictures, and the shutter speed automatically adjusts to the light settings, and it has some kind of stabilizing function so if your hands move, it wont affect the picture (not quite sure how that one works, I have gotten some shaky pictures from it, but maybe its just because my hands NEVER stop shaking xD)
I would also suggest the D60. I know I love mine, who knows? Maybe you'll have the same luck.

Well, I hope you find what you're looking for and good luck in your search! <33333

You're always going to get shaky pictures every now and then. x3 From any camera xD but mine is WAY too much >_<

I went to Best Buy yesterday because I needed a charger for my phone since I lost the old one (DXX) and I took a peek at the camera section and D60's aren't THAT expensive which is good xD they're like 600 bucks and the D90's are like 800 so that's good XD I've also seen pictures that have been taken with the D60 and oh mai gawd wow from little to no noise <3

I really want to upgrade to an SLR D:

thanks, Somb! x33 <333
